How to Pack Your Office for a Move

Labelling systems, crate counts and what staff should pack themselves.

Good packing makes move day fast. Bad packing makes Monday chaos. Here's the system our crews prefer.

Use a location labelling system

Label every crate with floor, zone and desk number — e.g. 3-B-14 — not a person's name. People move desks; numbers don't.

What staff pack

  • Desk drawer contents and personal items
  • Files and paperwork into lidded crates
  • Leave PCs and screens to the IT team

Confidential material

Use security-sealed crates and a numbered seal log. Anything to destroy should go through secure shredding via clearance.

Frequently asked questions

How do you label office moving crates?

Use floor-zone-desk codes that match the new floor plan, with a colour per department.
